Hearing those words from Broker Rolf Hitzer was all the encouragement John Mark needed to commit to writing his Real Estate courses full time knowing there was no time to waste.

Originally a film studies student, John Mark was one of two hand picked from class to be offered to work on the Brandon Media Van in Brandon Manitoba, where events such as baseball, curling and other activities and events all around the city were recorded. He decided to wave good bye to College and pursue the film industry which in future days lead him into Real Estate.

Over a few months, John Mark was led into Real Estate from a few different sources. While reading the Rich Dad Poor Dad book series it was explained how the Rich buy assets to pay for liabilities. Assets such as stocks which pay dividends, system type business where the owner collecting the money is not present, and of course Real Estate. This idea of Real Estate led into a Carlton Sheets course that John Mark purchased from a late at night infomercial. A section in the course mentioned if you would like to invest in Real Estate as a carriere, you should become a Real Estate agent.

John Mark moved to Winnipeg with hopes of finding a job that he would work to learn, such as a sales job. While scouring the free press ads he kept coming across Realtor for Hire ads- he made some calls and got lined up with Century 21.

Wanting to learn about business, he attended a Darren Weeks event. He asked John Mark in front of the entire room how many properties he owned, and responded Im only 20 years old. Weeks replied with youre using age as an excuse! John Mark realized right then and there that Weeks was right. It didnt take long after that for John Mark to start his first joint venture on a triplex that turned out to be an amazing purchase.

Now just 5 years later, John Mark has sold over $20 Million dollars of Real Estate from houses, condos, and multifamily homes to commercial buildings, businesses and large parcels of land. He became a specialist in multifamily investing with buying his first Triplex at age 21, then joining The Raymond Carriere and Associates team and successfully completing the Certified Commercial Investment Member 101 Course in 2011. He has personally acquired and sold over a dozen doors and is on the rise to do a lot more!
